IN ANGOLA FOR OVER A DECADE
OVER THE YEARS, IMEX HAS BEEN BUILDING A STRONG IMAGE IN ANGOLA’S INDUSTRIAL SECTOR, ACHIEVING A PREMIUM POSITION IN THE MIND OF THE ANGOLAN CONSUMER.
On March 3rd, 2003, Imex was founded in Luanda as a pioneer company in rotational molding technology, and thus benefiting from greater experience in this process than the players who later entered the sector. In response to a growing market, the company quickly expanded its facilities in the Angolan capital and opened branches in Catumbela.
In 2008, continuing to expand its rotational molding product line, Imex introduced a new foaming division in both locations to celebrate a joint venture - the Webcor Group.
In the following years, the business continued to develop and the increasingly demanding expectations of the market, led Imex to invest once again in its modernization and geographical expansion launching a rotational molding factory and mattresses in Huambo in 2009; a factory of mattresses in Cabinda in 2010 and a new rotational molding unit in Catumbela in 2011.
In order to keep pace with the growing demand of the Angolan market, the company has also decided to expand its offer, including PVC and HDPE pipes of different sizes and pressures, for the most diverse applications.
In April 2012, the Viana production unit was inaugurated aiming to maximize the process of stock transformation and storage, acquisition and installation of machinery and equipment with state-of-the-art technology, as well as the selection of raw material with certification of quality at origin.
This factory starts to produce the new rotational molding products, PVC and HDPE pipes as well as spring mattresses, foam and pillows. Another goal is to strengthen the sector’s development and also to create new jobs for the Angolan people.
COMMITMENT TO ANGOLA
The path of IMEX throughout its several years of existence has always been based on the commitment to grow and at the same time actively participating in the country’s development. Therefore, the company invests in the modernization and certification of the origin of its raw materials, privileges the hiring of national workers, supports local communities whenever possible and plans to continue its expansion throughout the nation´s territory.
